Travelling With Mum

So mum and I travelled across the Nullabour together in March. It was quite the experience, we saw some amazing sights and had quite the amazing time together (that is if you forget those times I got so anxious I became an absolute witch!)
Settling in over here has been harder than I expected. Living by myself is great, but lonely, work is good but nowhere near as great as home (its getting better, time will tell!) and I really have to be grown up. Socially I have had no problems YAY! o boyfriend yet (unless you count Patrick, see above, so you can all quash that rumour).
I am working at the Austin Hospital still in ICU and, luckily for me, am not experiencing anything really new in terms of patient conditions, just new ways of looking after them.
My new ward is Eltham Ward, in the Heidelberg Stake. I got called back into Young Womens (who would have thought) and am having a bit of a challenge there.
My flat is three flats down from one of the main streets in Greensborough, the suburb I live in. It is two bedrooms, a bathroom/ laundry, kitchen and living room. A small backyard and a long narrow lock up garage. Its getting pretty cold here and I have the sneaking suspicion my gas/ electricity bill is gonna be sky high!
There are bucketloads of YSA over here and I have made some really good friends, close and not so close from where I live. Every week to two weeks there is something on which makes life good. I have spent a lot of time with Tamara (Gow) Brown, which is really helpful!
Since being here, I have seen Jack Johnson in concert at The Sidney Meyer Music Bowl (which was HUGE!!!!), Harry Connick Jr at the Palais Theatre in St Kilda, High School Musical on Ice (oh dear), explored the city and St Kilda, gone to Bells Beach and the Great Ocean Road and driven to Adelaide for a long weekend. Its been eventful.
I haven't been left alone either. Visits from Amy Liddicoat, Lisa Grinceri and Hailey Oates have brightened my day and I look forward to Leah, Sarah and Toby McAllister and Mel and Matt Evitt. I also hope to be in Perth for a short while in August!
So you are all really bored now so I will stop now and sign off.
Love you all!
Jane.

Jane is Blogging

To My Family!

So yes, I have decided to start a blog so you all know exactly what I am up to. Well not exactly but sort of - no you will not know how many hours of work I do, what time I got home Friday night (...Saturday morning) or what I ate for dinner last night (or what I didn't eat). No just some glimpses so I feel a little closer to home.

I miss you all a whole lot
Love Janey xxoo
P.S. The little red doll I am holding is a recent gift from Hailey Oates. When put in water he grows to 6 times his original size. He is meant to be the perfect boyfriend, I have named him Patrick!
